Micro-entity accounts under FRS 105 are a balance sheet with a few notes at its foot and a profit and loss account for the members. Software should check that the company qualifies, build both statements in the micro formats, add the statements above the signature and prepare the filing version. In StatutoryAccounts.io they cost £129 a year, excluding VAT.

## What micro-entity software must check

- Eligibility. Two of the three limits, normally in two consecutive years, with the transitional rule for years beginning on or after 6 April 2025, and the exclusions: charities, public companies, financial companies, and companies included in group accounts. Try the [micro-entity checker](https://www.statutoryaccounts.io/tools/micro-entity-checker/).
- The formats. The micro-entity balance sheet and profit and loss account lines in their statutory order, with comparatives.
- The notes. Directors' advances and guarantees, average employees, off-balance sheet arrangements and commitments, at the foot of the balance sheet.
- The statements. The micro-entity statement and, if exempt from audit, the three audit exemption statements, above the director's signature, with the director's printed name.
- No extras. No revaluations, fair values or deferred tax: FRS 105 does not allow them.

See the [example of micro-entity accounts](https://www.statutoryaccounts.io/templates/micro-entity-accounts-example/) for the result.

## When FRS 105 is not the right choice

A micro-entity may choose FRS 102 Section 1A instead, for example to show property at valuation or to give fuller notes. Software should let it. A company that has outgrown the limits in two consecutive years moves to the small company rules: FRS 102 Section 1A, a directors' report, and more notes.

## Micro-entity accounts in StatutoryAccounts.io

Status on 28 October 2026: the UK trial balance import, the CT600 module and iXBRL output are in preparation and not yet available. StatutoryAccounts.io prepares accounts and returns for filing: it does not submit them to Companies House or HMRC, and it is not yet HMRC-recognised Corporation Tax software or a Companies House software filer.

StatutoryAccounts.io works out the size from the figures, applies FRS 105 and the micro formats when the company qualifies, adds the notes and statements, and prepares the balance sheet for filing. The price for a micro-entity is £129 per financial year, excluding VAT, with the CT600 for that year included; the first set of accounts in an account is free.
