What StatutoryAccounts.io does

  • Reads a trial balance and maps each nominal account to the Companies Act balance sheet and profit and loss formats, with AI suggestions you confirm.
  • Works out the company size for the financial year from turnover, balance sheet total and average employees, including the two-year rule and the thresholds for financial years beginning on or after 6 April 2025.
  • Builds the balance sheet, profit and loss account and notes under FRS 105, FRS 102 Section 1A or full FRS 102, with prior-year comparatives.
  • Drafts the notes and the directors' report (and the strategic report where the company must prepare one) with AI, as editable drafts for the directors to review.
  • Supports review, comments and approval by the board, and prepares the Companies House filing pack for the size class.
  • Prepares the Corporation Tax computation and the CT600 return from the same figures.

What it does not do

  • It is not an accountancy firm and gives no legal or tax advice. It does not issue an accountants' report or an auditor's report.
  • It does not submit accounts to Companies House or returns to HMRC. You, or your accountant, file them.
  • It does not replace the directors' judgement: the directors approve the accounts and remain responsible for them (Companies Act 2006, section 414).
  • Charitable companies, banks, insurers and group (consolidated) accounts are outside its scope.

Who it is for

Directors of micro-entities and small companies who prepare their own accounts and Corporation Tax return. Accountants and bookkeepers who prepare accounts for clients and want a review trail. Finance teams of medium-sized and large companies who prepare the accounts that their auditor then audits.
