StatutoryAccounts.io

Features

What StatutoryAccounts.io does, step by step: statutory accounts under the Companies Act 2006 and UK GAAP from a trial balance, the company size test, AI-drafted notes and directors' report, review and approval, a Companies House filing pack and the CT600.

From trial balance to approved accounts

Upload your trial balance, confirm the suggested mapping and answer a few questions about the company. StatutoryAccounts.io builds the balance sheet and profit and loss account, and the AI drafts the notes and directors' report. You review the figures, the accounting policies and the wording; the board approves.

All features

Import

  • Trial balance import: Excel and CSV with automatic column detection, and a PDF trial balance read with AI. Exports from Xero, QuickBooks, Sage and FreeAgent work as files; direct connections are planned.
  • AI mapping: each nominal account gets a suggested Companies Act line item with a reason; every mapping can be changed by hand.
  • Prior-year figures: comparatives from last year's trial balance or accounts.

Prepare the accounts

  • Company size: the two-of-three test over two consecutive years, with the thresholds for financial years beginning on or after 6 April 2025 and the earlier ones, and the audit exemption indicated.
  • Statements: balance sheet in the Companies Act formats and profit and loss account by function (Format 1) or by nature (Format 2); micro-entities use the micro formats.
  • Notes: AI drafts of the notes your size requires, with amounts linked to the statements.
  • Directors' report and strategic report: editable drafts where the company must prepare them.

Review and approve

  • Checks: totals, balance, completeness and consistency between statements and notes.
  • Team and roles: Admin, Preparer, Reviewer, Approver and Client; comments and approval per section, with an audit trail. An approved financial year is locked.

Export and file

  • Exports: the full accounts as PDF, or editable in Word and Excel.
  • Companies House filing pack: the version your company size must file, prepared for filing. The software does not submit it.
  • Corporation Tax: the computation and the CT600 return from the same figures, prepared for filing by you or your agent.

A change of size takes effect only when it happens in two consecutive financial years; a company qualifies in its first financial year if it meets the conditions in that year.

Important: StatutoryAccounts.io does not replace professional judgement, legal or tax advice, or an audit. The directors remain responsible for the accounts they approve.

Careful handling of financial data

The application database is hosted in London and connections are encrypted. For AI features we send only the data needed through the commercial Anthropic API, which does not use API data for model training by default. Details are on Security.
